Forgot this one, last one for sure

Gap socks, Bally Badia shoes

Very Jazzy..Striped Brown Socks on Cream shoes. Is this way too much ?

Ah I think this is very funky. I think more appropriate for Parties and Friday/Saturday night outs. I can't think of wearing this combination with these White/Cream shoes anywhere else. BR socks and Shoes are cheap Aldo on sale for I think 40 bucks. I have grown out of wearing white shoes so I don't wear them as often. Does the job. This is the end of Shoes/Socks combo. I do have more but all these designs/combination s posted are my best.

I love these socks, probably Gap but don't remember. These days I usually buy 2 pairs if I really like the design or pattern of the socks. But I only got 1 of these and they're beginning to wear out. This is my first pair of designed socks and this is how I started buying design and patterned socks. I just loved the way they looked and after that there was no looking back. I liked it so much that I started playing around with different sock patterns and shoes. The Shoes are AE Odin made exclusively for Harold Heights in Houston. Love the Gold Buckle on them. My brother lives in Houston so one day I'm gonna visit that store :). I've been getting lot of complements on them. Also they shine real well when I apply the shiner on them. Love them.

More Argyle

BR socks and AE Hastings shoes.

Last one with Black shoes

Ofcourse I do have plain Black socks. I like the way these ones look. Unfortunately @ this point of time I only have one good pair of Black shoes, I do wanna buy AE Evanston in Black but ofcourse @ the right price. And Yes I swear these are not stockings ;).

Argyle anyone

I'm not a great fan of wearing Argyle sweaters, jackets as I feel the pattern is too strong for the face. But socks is a different story. These Argyle socks are carried now by every company, Gap, Express, BR etc. These ones are BR for $1.99. I like BR socks as they're light weight. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. I'm just too lazy to go through and take picture again especially since I have more pictures with Brown shoes coming up.

One of my Favorite

Gap socks bought for .99$. I hate paying more than 2-3$ for socks. I guess I'm always on budget. Gap usually puts their socks on sale every 2-3 months but what I hate about their socks is that they don't have any thin cotton socks like Banana Republic have so most of my socks are BR, I have some from Gap, J Crew, Zara, Mexx. I need an opinion on these ones. I personally love them, I would still like to know if these are too funky.

Striped Socks

I have always been fascinated by Striped socks. I think they look fantastic although it can looking silly as well if not done in right way. Here are some picks of striped socks and I'll post more later. I play it very safe and usually I have either Black or Brown striped or patterned socks and I will usually wear them with Black or Brown pants and shoes. Ofcourse if we wear plain socks matching your pants, it gives the illusion of heights and obviously striped or patterned socks will break this illusion but I just like it because it looks cool not that a lot of people will notice. But people you work with closely will notice it. Where I used to work, people eventually realised in 6 months time that I wear funky socks and after that I had literally every Tom, Dick and Harry critiquing me eventhough their own personal style was crap. But I knew that if the majority agreed that it was good, I was on right track.

Tuck Your Shirt In

As a guy Sartorially inclined, I believe in shirts tucked in. Here is a link to a good article on the debate from men.style.com

Tuck your shirt in

Personally I can tolerate tucked out shirts as long as they're not way too long in length but I hate tucked out shirt with a blazer which most wanna be players and club guys on the night life are doing it and so proud of it. I guess Ignorance is Bliss. And there's nothing worse than to see a tucked out shirt and a jacket or Blazer and the shirt is longer than the Blazer. Ouch..it hurts the eyes but the guys are so proud of it. So much for fashion sense.

Anyways so I believe that a tucked in fitted shirt with a nice belt and nice shoes will look miles better than tucked out. Its just elegant and looks great as well. Only exception is probably if you're not in shape and overweight. Then it becomes tricky.

How about half tucked in shirts.....Here is what style guy on GQ has to say about it.

Q: When I wear jeans and a button-down shirt, my girlfriend tells me that it’s in style to tuck in the front and leave the back out. However, my friends say that is out-of-date. Are there any tips you could give me?

A: Out-of-date? When was half-tucked “in style”? The third week of October 2002? Shirts are worn in or out. Anything else makes you look like a slob or a poseur. My tip is to get a new girlfriend.

But as we have seen on the sartorialist blog, it can be pulled off but its very tricky.

This is just Gorgeous. I long to see a women dressed like this. No prizes for guessing where the pics are coming from, yep polo.com.

Women in Polo with Boots

More women in Polos

Jeans, White Polo and Nice plain Brown Big belt and probably Brown Boots tells us that you are a lady with wild side.

More Polo ideas

I recommend getting rid of that big gold buckle and the extra accessories to keep it simple but otherwise this would be an immaculate way to pull it off and guaranteed you'll look different from the rest of the pack. Again polo.com is the place to go for great polo ideas. I have no affiliation with Polo or Ralph Lauren. I just want to see people wear clothes the right way and make this world a more Beautiful Place :).

Women in Polo

What can I say, I'm a man and I love women so if the ladies are wondering how to pull off polos, here are some good polo ideas. Here in Jax, i almost never see women making an effort to pull off the Polo, they wear it but they're not quite sure how to make it work except wear it tight. I see lot of lovely women in lovely gowns and dresses but not polos. In a way I can understand, its the last thing I myself would like to see them wear but if done in the right way, they can make you look good and separate you from the rest of the pack. Again polo.com is the place to go for great polo ideas.

Stripped Polo, white jeans & Dress shoes

Can it ever get better than this. Striped Polo, preppy plain belt, white jeans and Dress shoes. Classic. Thanks again to Polo.com :).

More Polo Ideas

I think this is a great combination. Again shamelessly ripped from Polo.com. That is why I think Polo.com is great for Polo ideas. White or Creamy polo shirt and blue/navy jeans with Preppy belt and converse. Its cool, classic and Laid back Dandy :). I see these Polo's all the time in jax but never pulled off in such a good way.

Ways to Pull of a Polo, Personal Favorite

I'm in Jax, Florida and I feel sick with all the hip hop guys and the local ppl wearing preppy polo ralph lauren shirts which they can't pull off. Worst offenders are the hip hop guys with oversized preppy rl polos. Here in Florida where everyone wears a Polo shirt, I think they should teach in school how to pull of polo's ;). As always the things I suggest are things I like and things I have seen and read in Fashion Mags and blogs. My main influence for pulling of polos is ofcourse www.polo.com and some help from Details and GQ magazine. I think this is the Best way to Pull off a Polo, a White Jeans which can be bought from Dillards or Macy's on sale for $25 bucks, JCREW or Banana Republic gross grain belt which again can be bought on sale for $5-15 bucks and these polo shirts which can be picked up from Dillards or Macys for $20-50 bucks on sale. I think this looks very clean, crispy and easily stands out. You will be like a Smooth Player, no one will be able to figure out why you look so good. Ok the shirt here is a full sleeve polo but you get the drift. And oh yea lets not forget, you can make it look dressy with nice dress shoes or go sockless with Mocs or Boat shoes. I would usually go with Mocs but either way its a Winner. Or maybe even Converse. Finally all my polo post pics have been shamelessly ripped from polo.com.

Definition of Dandy

Alright so as a wanna be Dandy, how do we define Dandy? Here are some important excerpts from its definition in Wikipedia.

A dandy[1] (also known as a beau, gallant or flamboyant person[2]) is a man who places particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies. Historically, especially in late 18th- and early 19th-century Britain, a dandy, who was self-made, often strove to imitate an aristocratic style of life despite coming from a middle-class background.

Now I'll have to say that I do not judge every person merely by their physical appearance. I do value and believe that the person deep inside is just as important or even more important but there is nothing wrong in taking care of yourself and looking good. A great book with a great cover has a greater chance of selling more than great book with poor cover.

Continuing with the definition of Dandyism.

Charles Baudelaire, in the later, "metaphysical," phase of dandyism[4] defined the dandy as one who elevates æsthetics to a living religion,[5] that the dandy's mere existence reproaches the responsible citizen of the middle class: "Dandyism in certain respects comes close to spirituality and to stoicism" and "These beings have no other status, but that of cultivating the idea of beauty in their own persons, of satisfying their passions, of feeling and thinking .... Contrary to what many thoughtless people seem to believe, dandyism is not even an excessive delight in clothes and material elegance. For the perfect dandy, these things are no more than the symbol
of the aristocratic superiority of his mind."

In the 21st century, the word dandy is a jocular, often sarcastic adjective meaning "fine" or "great"; when used in the form of a noun, it refers to a well-groomed and well-dressed man, but often to one who is also self-absorbed.

Ok I completely fail in that last one. I'm definitely not self-absorbed.

The dictionary comes up with its own meaning of Dandy.

1 : a man who gives exaggerated attention to personal appearance
2 : something excellent in its class

I like the no. 2 or maybe we can combine this all together and here is what I would consider a real Dandy Person.

A Person who knows how to take care of himself and others, a person who has refined taste in all good things in life and a person who knows how to treat not just a woman but everyone with respect and person who treats a lady like she needs to be, in a gentlemanly way. So I think in my Book a Dandy person is also a gentleman. Lets broaden this definition if we can but thats all I can think right now.

Does this mean...I'm Dandy..I'm right now failing by my own standards. I'm respectful with people and ladies but not always a gentleman. In fact I'm one of those people who is very impulsive and hence I easily get carried away in the moment and can behave in very UnDandy ways @ times. I guess I'll try but ultimately I do care and strive to be a better human. Lets just go with Definition no. 2. ..Dandy is something or someone excellent in its class. :). Yep now I feel very Dandy.

More pics of my shoes

The sole. I love the shiny finish on the sole. God..it took me some time before I decided to wear them outside. I just did not want to blemish the sole :).

Bally Badia, I love these shoes.

I love these shoes!!! Bally Badia, paid $165 on Amazon with a full retail price of $495 on Amazon and $399 @ Dillard's. Blake Rapid Construction and although a bit too pricey for Bally shoes but I just love the design and color so much, I could not resist. They're not part of Bally's more luxurious Scribe line which I believe are Good Year Welted but these are still good & hand made in Switzerland.
